We had so much fun this week doing Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Chicka Chicka 1,2,3. We read both books, watched both videos and did projects about Chicka Chicka!
One project we stamped four letters and worked on naming the letter's names. We also practiced writing our name. These are hanging in our hallway!
Another project we cut apart our name, ripped paper into a tree and had our name letters climb up. We practiced writing our name again, counting, and even writing a number.
For letter of the week we had the letter Tt. We read the Tilly the Turtle Goes to Tea to emphasize the Tt sound. We colored a tooth brush for our alphabet book, "tore, tiny, tiles" for a Tt for our book and made a hand print Turtle.
Ask your child to show you the sign for what the T "says."
We have been using these The Literacy Link: A Multisensory Approach to Sound-Symbol Connections and it seems to truly be helping some kids learn the sound for the letter.
